Thank you for looking up Alba’s Books. This is really just a way station on the way to our store on Biblio (and soon our store on Amazon, too!) There, you can search or browse our stock, and also find over 5,500 other independent booksellers. Since you’re here, though, let me tell you a bit about us.

We specialize in the extraordinary. Our shelves are graced with over 23,000 rare, collectible, and out-of-print books that have been meticulously curated for nearly thirty years. We pride ourselves on carrying mostly hardcover first editions, each in the finest possible condition for its age, and covering a variety of subjects so that there’s something for every collector and curious mind. We’re talking fiction, history, essays, biographies, poetry, science, philosophy, cookbooks, art and photography, mythology and folklore, children and juvenile, travel and exploration, and more. Check out our store on Biblio and you just might find that prized gem you’ve been seeking.

We’re located in Chicago, but we do all our selling online and at book fairs. It gives us the flexibility to scour the Midwest for new finds to add to our collection. And it gives me, Alba, the time to write. You see, I’m also a writer, which is just another way my love of books manifests itself. At first, I started Alba’s Books as a way to help my parents out with their own online bookstore, Bibliodisia. But now I see that, actually, it was them helping me, letting me write to my heart’s content and become part of this amazing community of people who, like me, love to geek out about books and writers. I’m grateful to my folks, and also to you.
